The “GiGi”

Each home game, the Spirit Squadron votes for a Player of the Match (POM). A trophy, named ‘GiGi,’ is given to the player that “left their mark that match with grit, heart, scrappiness, or awesome moves.”

There are two large GiGis that each POM signs (one for the team, and one for the Squadron), and each POM receives their own mini GiGi to take home. Each GiGi is made with love by one of the Squadron’s members, Doug Horgan.

The Spirit Squadron Player of the Match is selected near the end of the second half, and presented with GiGi at the end of each match by a representative of the Squadron at midfield.
