Who We Are
The Squad Behind the Squad.
Founded in 2013, the Spirit Squadron is the primary, independent supporters’ group for the Washington Spirit of the NWSL. We are a community of passionate fans dedicated to bringing the noise, the energy, and the passion to every match.
From our home in Sections 136 and 137 at Audi Field, we lead the chants, wave the flags, and stand for 90+ minutes to make sure our players know we have their backs. Whether we’re organizing match-day marches or painting massive tifo displays, our mission is simple: to create the most vibrant and electric atmosphere in women’s professional soccer.

- Advocacy & Activism: We believe in the power of our platform. From our Prideraiser campaigns for LGBTQ+ youth to our “Free D.C.” chants for statehood, we are committed to making a difference beyond the pitch.
- The DMV Spirit: We represent Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia with pride, celebrating the unique culture and history of our capital.
